Wordpress Web Design: What’s It All About

Many consider Wordpress to be one of the best blogging platforms available. It is a less known fact that the software can be used to design websites that are easy to use and navigate, well-built and attractive.

The best thing about Wordpress is that it does not cost anything. There are also many free plug-ins available, which makes it excellent for web designers who are trying to hold down costs. There is no license fee to pay, and you totally control the way in which it is utilized. It encompasses the most up-to-date web standards and provides top-notch user efficiency. To obtain further information, visit www.wordpress.org.

It is easy to build both static and dynamic pages with the software. Plus, it is possible to update content on a continual basis, which is the reason that web designs based on Wordpress are so popular with search engines. When a site is updated on a regular basis, its rankings are boosted as Google crawls it more frequently. Users do not have to be familiar with html either, since the WYSIWIG linking tool allows anchor text links to be added easily to other pages of a site or to external sources.

For example, it is possible to add blog posts to categories and tag them. This increases their visibility on Google, Yahoo and other search engines. In addition, this promotes discussion with your audience, allowing them to comment on your posts. This, in turn, generates traffic if, for instance, they are ‘retweeted’ on Twitter.

In addition, Wordpress is simple to set-up and learn, which makes it an excellent choice for web designers who have clients who may not be technologically savvy but who are interested in managing their own content. The ’saleability’ of Wordpress designs is enhanced by the control panel that is a snap to use.

Wordpress designs can look just as good and be just as functional as those created with other programs, due to the wide availability of plug-ins and templates on the Internet. And since Wordpress is an Open Source program, new ones are continually being released.

It is possible to customize Wordpress sites to meet certain design requirements, and it is especially easy to add additional pages without affecting the quality or content in the other parts of the website. Free plug-ins, such as contact forms, calendars, photo albums, the setting up of polls, and so on, are available for those who want extra features for their web pages.

So it is surely worth considering Wordpress the next time you are creating a website or looking for a new design for an existing website.

You Are Your Own Economy

Bret Dudl Economy By Giulietta Nardone.

Most of us have been taught to believe the economy is something only experts can “fix.” Witness large segments of the US population wandering around in a funk, feeling frightened, feeling depressed, wondering how and when our president & the head of the treasury will rescue us.

I too used to believe I had no control over the economy.

Then it dawned on me that I am my own economy. That the economy isn’t out there, it’s inside of me. It’s how I feel about myself and the greatness I have to offer.

To make your own economy you need to look within yourself for the greatness you were put on the planet to share, the how-to knowledge that others crave. Once you can discover and release that greatness, you’ll have everything you need to make your own economy.

I liken finding your own economy to the journey Dorothy takes in the, “The Wizard of Oz.” Dorothy spends most of her “story” looking outside herself for ways to get home. She believes she is powerless, that only others hold the power to get her back to Kansas. She spends a lot of time hanging out with others who also feel powerless. Then towards the end of the movie when Dorothy thinks she’s missed the last way home, she asks, Glinda, the Good Witch of the North, to help her. Glinda says:

“You don’t need to be helped any longer. You’ve always had the power to go back to Kansas.”

“I have?” says Dorothy.

“Then why didn’t you tell her before?” demands the scarecrow.

“Because she wouldn’t have believed me. She had to learn it for herself.”

It’s the same with the economy. You have to learn for yourself that you’ve always had the power to make your own economy. You have to find your inner ruby business slippers and click them together three times.

Carbon Monoxide Alarms

Bret Dudl Alarms By Ralph Winn.

In the United States, over 10 thousand carbon monoxide injuries occur annually. According to the Journal of the American Medical Association, “There are approximately 2,100 unintentional deaths from carbon monoxide (CO) every year in the U.S.”

But, do you know what carbon monoxide is, where it comes from, or how to protect yourself and your family? Knowing these things can greatly lower the chances of an injury or death from carbon monoxide. The Journal of the American Medical Association goes on to say, “the use of a carbon monoxide detector could potentially prevent many of these fatalities.”

What is carbon monoxide, and where does it come from?

It’s an odorless, colorless, tasteless, and poisonous gas, which is slightly lighter than air and forms when fuels burn incompletely. In layman’s terms, it is produced when any fuel-burning object doesn’t completely burn the gas supplied to it.

Carbon monoxide can be produced from any burned fuel, including: Gasoline, Propane, Natural Gas, Wood, Oil and Coal.

The household appliances that are most likely to cause poisoning are: Furnaces, Gas Stoves, Clothes Dryers, Water Heaters and Space Heaters.

How do you protect yourself from carbon monoxide poisoning?

Now that you know what is and where it comes from, you need to know how to protect yourself and your family from its deadly effects. Common sense tells us to be sure that fuel burning appliances are properly installed and to regularly check that they are functioning properly. But, installing a detector in your home is the best way to ensure your protection against this odorless poison.

A alarm works by constantly monitoring you home for dangerous levels of carbon monoxide, and if it discovers these levels, the detector sounds a signal and possibly even alerts the fire department. Air-borne substances and air temperature levels don’t cause false alarms, because they have no effect on a detector.

When shopping for an alarm, remember to only purchase a carbon monoxide detector that is approved by the Underwriters Laboratories (UL). A alarm can have many different features, most of which are optional. The one must-have detector feature is AC power with a battery backup. The detector features are: digital read out of carbon monoxide levels, home security system integration and smoke detector and alarm hybrid unit.

The Greenhouse Effect - A Growing Problem

Infovest21 Growing Problems by Yvonne Mustafelli.

The greenhouse effect is a simple idea. Farmers commonly use a building made of glass to grow plants during the cooler months of the year. This glass holds in the heat of the sun making the environment inside the green house optimal for plant growth. The Earth is out green house, but the upper most layer is permeable so excess heat reflected from the Earth’s surface can escape back into space.

When fossil fuels became popular, the ozone layer was intact, protecting humans and animals from harmful UV rays and the heat flow into and out of the atmosphere was perfect. Then, everything changed. Fossil fuels like coal gained quickly in popularity as the cost of heating a home, warming water and producing gasoline was minimal. Everyone could afford the amenities that were once reserved for the richest of families.

As more and more fossil fuels were burned, gasses started collected inside the atmosphere. These gasses stop the extra heat from escaping just as the glass roof and walls do in a green house. The result is called the greenhouse effect.

As the Earth warms, animal and human habitats are changing. Water temperatures are rising and polar ice caps are melting. Some scientists believe that desalination of salty water sources could spell the end of the world while others still maintain that global warming as a result of the greenhouse effect is simply natural and expected.

Why Buy Eco Products? - Climate Change and the Greenhouse Effect

Infovest21 Greenhouse Products by Richard N Williams.

Climate change has been hotly discussed and debated in the last few years with recent summits of world leaders not providing agreement on what can be done to halt the rising temperature and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

However, whilst the politicians continue to argue, more and more people are turning to eco friendly products to help reduce their impact on the environment by reducing their greenhouse gas emissions.

But there is often a lot of confusion around climate change and the greenhouse effect leaving people unsure about what products to buy and how they can help reduce their greenhouse gas emissions.

But climate change is relatively straightforward. Greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide and methane, which occur naturally in the environment have been increasing due to pollution humans have been pumping into the environment; from cars, aeroplanes, power stations, factories and our homes. These gases insulate the earth, preventing the warmth generated by the sun’s light from escaping hence warming the planet - just like a greenhouse.

As carbon dioxide is the most common greenhouse gas emitted by man, slowing its output and reducing our carbon footprint is perhaps the most direct way we can slow the effects of climate change. And as most of the carbon dioxide is generated through energy production, from power plants that heat our homes to the exhausts of motor cars that drive us to work - reducing our energy consumption will is the simplest way we can do this.

And there is a vast range of energy saving gadgets and energy efficiency products in the eco friendly market. From electricity monitors to help you discover where you are consuming and wasting energy to radiator panels that boost the efficiency of your heating system.

Anything that can help you reduce energy consumption will go a long way to cut down on the greenhouse gases that are emitted by your energy use and help to reduce the effects of climate change.
